Viet Ha Tran is a Vietnam-born and Spain-based fine art photographer known for her emotionally dense and endlessly compelling photographs of women. Her art emphasizes fantasy and imagination as a source of aesthetic experience. Instead of taking photos, she tries to paint women’s emotions, inner dreams, intimacy, poetry and philosophy with her camera. As a result, her photos, apart from having an air of classic paintings, capture an ephemeral moment of feminine emotions flowing through the river of time. As reality plays hide-and-seek with fantasy, it’s a reflection of those volatile moods etched in the permanent state of change.
Her works have made presence on Vogue Italia and Vanity Fair France, at Saatchi Gallery London, and were auctioned by Christie’s Hong Kong for charity. She is listed as global artist by Artprice, the world leader in art market information, and represented by Art+Commerce / Vogue Italia – the joint project of the largest global photo agency based in New York and the prestigious Vogue Italia. She is currently represented by Galerie Sophie Lanöe (Paris), My Web’Art (Hong Kong), and The Great Banyan Art (New Delhi). Her artworks have appeared in a multitude of curated collections by Chief Curator of Saatchi Art, the world’s largest online gallery. Most recently, her work has been presented by Setdart, Spain’s leading online auction house, and by Saatchi Art to millions of American art collectors through their printed catalog.
Starting photography in 2013, Viet Ha’s artworks have been published in over 90 different magazines and newspapers around the world. She was semi-finalist in the Spanish National Digital Photography Contest 2013, and won Honorable Mentions in Fine Art Categories of the International Photography Awards 2013, Los Angeles. She was invited by Vogue Italia to photograph for Vogue Talents Shooting in early 2014. Later in 2014, her works appeared at Brighton Photo Biennial, UK’s largest photography festival.
Viet Ha holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan and a Master in Marketing Management from IE Business School, Spain. She studied a photography course at Spain’s renowned EFTI (Centro Internacional de Fotografía y Cine) before starting taking pictures.
At present, her works are collected by a wide range of collectors around the world including galleries, art dealers, luxury hotels, and individual collectors.
